Advancements in anatomy and physiology, thanks to the work of pioneers like Andreas Vesalius, further improved surgical outcomes. Surgeons could now operate with a deeper understanding of the human body, leading to better accuracy and success rates.

The advent of antibiotics in the 1940s drastically reduced post-operative infections, making surgery safer than ever. The Future of Surgery


Looking ahead, surgery will likely continue to integrate advanced technologies. Innovations such as 3D printing for custom implants, augmented reality for real-time guidance, and gene-editing tools like CRISPR for genetic disorders hold incredible promise. These developments aim to make surgeries less invasive, more effective, and accessible to a broader population.
